Empower My Students to Step Into the Role of an Engineer!
My students range from 9th-11th grade and are interested in the many fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
The school has over 2,300 diverse students with 68% FARM. We offer four-year program in visual performing arts, career technical education and college preparation.
Our program provides rigorous academics, fantastic teachers and a safe learning environment. Engaging students in hands-on activities, projects, and problems; empower them to solve real-world challenges; and inspire them to reimagine how they see themselves. As a result, we are constantly exploring opportunities to enhance students outlook on the stem careers .
My goal is to prepare my students to know problem-solving strategies, think critically and creatively, as well as, communicate and collaborate with others.
Research validates that we can build a strong foundation for college and career readiness skills through making subjects relevant to students, because if topics are relevant to their learning, they are going to understand it and retain it.
My Project
Using the Ozobots Robotics kits students can discover and explore the product design, robotics, and automation, as they apply what they have learned to design solutions for real-world manufacturing problems.
Learning by doing, students step into the varied roles engineers play in our society, discover new career paths and possibilities, and develop engineering knowledge and skills throughout the program.
Students dig deep into the engineering design process, applying math, science, and engineering standards to hands-on projects like designing a new toy or improving an existing product.
These activities not only build knowledge and skills in engineering, but also empower students to develop essential skills such as problem solving, critical and creative thinking, communication, collaboration, and perseverance.
