My students need iPad keyboards because we are a Magnet school and a lot of our in-class work/homework in done electronically. It would also benefit keyboarding skills.

My Students
Our school has a very diverse population. We currently have 30% white, 28% black/African American, 19% Hispanic/Latino, and the rest of our students are either two or more races, Native American, or Asian. We are a very well balanced, diverse, school environment. Our school is serving 25% of the population of English Language Learners, 15% special education, and 53% free and reduced lunch.
Our students are on a K-12 STEM pathway.
We are a Magnet School that focuses on engineering, technology, and leadership. The students bring in many different diverse backgrounds and cultural differences which makes our classrooms have a strong community.
My Project
In 5th grade, we do multiple research projects and students don't have the technology available to them at home to complete their assignments. This coming school year we are fortunate enough to go 1:1 iPads and are in need of wireless keyboards that students can use at school and at home. The keyboards will help students do research projects, slideshows, create digital books, and improve their keyboarding skills. We have such a diverse population and students don't have equitable resources at home. They will be able to use these keyboarding skills in the future and have a competitive edge in the workforce.
