My Students

My students are in eighth-grade math classes in Bristol CT. They are dedicated to their studies and are always looking for ways to become better at math. I have students ranging from advanced placement all the way to special education students, and I know they would all love to have access to high-quality materials to further their studies. All of my mathematicians strive to do their best in my classes and I hope to provide them with all the tools they need to succeed.

My Project

I am asking for 38 TI-30 Multiview calculators for my class. TI-30 calculators are an intermediate type of calculator that will allow my students to solve fraction equations, some scientific notation, and basic calculation, without being too complicated or overwhelming. Eighth graders need a more advanced calculator than what is used in elementary school and early middle school. Though it is really important to have fact fluency I want to empower all of my students to participate in the discussion and I believe this will do that for them. It will also give them a boost on state and local assessments that allow them to use such calculators. I would be so grateful to receive support for this project.
