Help me give my students posters and art for the library walls. Diversity, equity, inclusion, and book quotes will be displayed to celebrate and encourage students' individuality!
We are fortunate to live in a Bay Area community that is rich in cultural diversity. Many of my students carry rich cultures and desire to connect with their backgrounds. A majority of the students in the district are avid readers and are searching to make these connections through challenging diverse and inclusive texts.
My students are both excited about middle school and challenged by all the changes.
They are both excited to choose their own books and always searching for "just right" book. Oftentimes, they can't find books with characters and settings from their cultural background. Providing the right setting, with an inclusive and welcoming environment and filling a library with vibrant and diverse books supports students freedom of expression students richly deserve.
My Project
The library truly is the heart of the library. Students thrive in an atmosphere that supports their unique personalities. Wall art will be strategically hung throughout the library to maximize a positive learning environment.
These posters are meant to encourage kindness, empathy, and inclusion toward everyone.
There is no place for hate, and all the room in the world for love, and these posters are meant to inspire kindness and creativity, as well as a love for reading. With these posters, students will be reminded to be their best selves and to know, everyone is welcome in the library. Please help us to make this a home away from home and a place for students to be themselves.
