Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

The purpose of this project is to instruct students in the importance of physical activity and the opportunity to learn about the geography of our wonderful Country. Students will be issued a pedometer, they then will track the number steps taken a day and then total them for the week. The student will map their route across the continental United States and track their progress across the Country. They will receive a shoe lace token for every 50 miles traveled, with a special reward for the team to cover the most distance. Each student keeps his or her own log book. This integrated project includes physical fitness, English, math, and geography skills. We will tract each students progress on a Map of the United States hung in the Gym. To complete this project I am requesting 30 pedometers. This will be a great experience for Indianapolis Public School Students. They will use wellness technology math skills, and gain knowledge about this great Country.
