My Students

Our school is an urban elementary school grades Prek- 6th grade. The students are 100% eligible for free lunch. This school is like a community. The teachers and students all work together to create a great atmosphere.

We are always looking for ways to increase literacy and the love of learning.

There is an amazing book that has come out after the movie Black Panther. The movie has a lot of positive messages for our students. The book is set as a prequel to the movie with the story of the main characters in the movie in their youth.

My Project

There is many positive messages in the Black Panther stories, such things as honor and strength in both men and women.

The book that we are requesting will appeal to students because of the current popularity of the story of Wakanda (a fictional African country) and Black Panther (a superhero) both in the film and in graphic novels.

These books are a prequel to the movie. It tells the story of the Black Panther in his youth. He encounters many of the typical teen problems but also has to deal with his legacy and the issues of his country and family.
