My students need some new PE equipment that we are unable to access in both of our unusable gyms. One is unusable from Hurricane Harvey and the other is unusable from a tornado which caused mold.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students have been through so much this past school year. Even though we still have a school to attend so many parts of it are damaged and still in the repair process. They have been champs at adjusting to our every bump in the road. Both at home and at school!
They truly are able to take whatever life throws at them.
And they deserve the best! We are almost at a year now since disaster struck and we're back better than ever.
My Project
The majority of our PE equipment is inaccessible due to the recent hurricane and tornado. Our primary elementary gym was destroyed in Hurricane Harvey and some of the equipment is unable to be reached. Our other gym that we have limited access to is now inaccessible as well. A tornado messed up part of the roof which brought rain into the gym which brought mold. We are not allowed in the gym and when we are the equipment has to be thrown out due to the mold and health concerns.
Our program is now being held outside wherever possible with limited equipment.
Please consider donating to our program and help it get back on its feet. I have requested class sets of basketballs and footballs for our use as well as some general fitness equipment to work on our students' overall fitness level.
