Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Welcome to VPK. The place where you make friends, learn social skills and take the first step into formal education. We learn from our mistakes and celebrate accomplishments. We work together and build a school family.
Many of our students have never been in school and have never interacted with a large group of friends.
Others are excelling at a faster pace and already recognize letters and their sounds. They are all unique and learn in vastly different ways. To make a classroom successful, you need the tools to give every child the opportunity to succeed.
My Project
Stories are an important part of our classroom and day to day routine. They allow my students to empathize and connect with characters. They learn from mistakes, understand good choices from bad choices, and become better readers.
A listening center will greatly improve the literacy and language skills my students require to succeed.
They will able to work at a pace that best suits their needs. Working in groups will also allow the students to grow together and work on each other's strengths. As they listen to the stories my students will also be exposed to new vocabulary and hear letter sounds.
