I am blessed to work with over 900 students in K-5th grade. Our students are eager learners, wanting to explore and discover their place in the world. Always growing, always learning, our students are constantly discovering new things!

My Project
Each year, our students participate in an election to choose the best book in our state. Their votes are combined with other elementary students to select the award winner. Throughout the reading of the nominees, we discuss what makes a good book- learning that what's best for one person, might not be the best for all.
Using books as a platform for discussing critical thinking and making decisions of what's right for them, helps lay a foundation for later in life when they become voters.
