I teach 3rd grade gifted and talented. They are an amazing group of hard-working students. Many of them are still recovering from Hurricane Harvey.
I try to keep every minute focused on high impact, quality learning experiences that will help us move forward.
I want them eager to come to school because of the different and challenging activities offered, and to be focused and ready to achieve greatness. Though we are hoping for a much less eventful school year this year, I hope to continue to build in my class resilience and compassion for our classmates and community as well as continued growth and adventures in reading!
My Project
It is always my goal to introduce a variety of quality literature to my children. The yearly Texas Bluebonnet Master List encourages students from all across Texas to read 5 of 20ish hand-picked books to read and then decide which one is deserving of the Texas Bluebonnet Award. What a joy it is to see the children being empowered to read and then decide which one is worthy of this prestigious award!
My kids are currently finishing up their "five" now and get to vote this month.
They are excitedly waiting to be introduced to the new set of nominees!
