This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are wonderful, hardworking, students that live in a low socioeconomic community in California. Even though they're up against the odds, they show up everyday eager to learn and work. My students are still at an age where they are passionate about learning and curious about the world. Being from a poor community, many of my students do not have all the materials they need to be successful. Unfortunately, our school isn't able to provide them with those materials because of budget restrictions. Many of my students don't have the basic materials to be successful because of their families' financial restrictions. I believe that students can only succeed if they have the right tools.

My Project

My goal during Physical Education is to teach my students the fundamentals of sport. I want to provide my students with the opportunity to learn how to play a sport. Many times students shy away from playing a sport because they never learned the basics of the sport. Having these volleyballs will allow my students to work on setting, bumping, and volleying with a partner. These skills will then transfer to playing actual games. Having more balls will provide every student the opportunity to practice hitting and receiving the ball. These balls will allow my students to stay physically fit.
