My students need 10 voice recorders to practice speaking in Spanish and to efficiently assess their proficiency.

My high school students are striving every day toward their #1 Big Goal of 'Confident Communication in Spanish' and are eager to improve their speaking skills, given that speech is the most likely way they will use Spanish in their future.
My students are eager teenagers from Memphis attending an urban high school.
Each student has a different aspiration - from owning their own barbershop locally, to being a top judge, to working as a skilled OB-GYN. My students know that proficiency in Spanish will help in any profession - improving pay, hiring opportunities, and increasing potential clients. They are eager learners, and passionate about their own goals.
With digital voice recorders, speaking proficiently in Spanish will become a much more urgent task for my students. When recorded, as we can all sometime attest, students put in significantly more effort - knowing that their final output is (somewhat) permanent! Having voice recorders as a ready class resource will encourage my students to focus on their output. Speaking is the hardest mode of communication in a new language, and every bit of practice counts. Furthermore, voice recorders for every two students will enable me to assess their speaking much more easily. There will be little precious class time wasted moving between students in their speaking assessments; these can be conducted efficiently and with a sense of real purpose.
The ability to communicate in Spanish (especially by speaking the language!) will open so many pathways for my students.
Knowing two languages, and speaking both proficiently with lots of practice, is sure to assist my students in whatever their personal goal may be.
