This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students live in a small community in Northeast Alabama. 68% of students at my school receive free and reduced lunch. Even though many of our students live at or below the poverty line, students and teachers at my school work hard to bridge the achievement gap. Students receive an education full of rigor and receive quality instruction from a vast array of trained professional educators. Weaver High School is committed to helping our students become successful global citizens in the 21st century.
My Project
Learning has drastically changed in the 21st century. Today, our students need interactive and engaging curriculum to keep them interested in learning. Flocabulary keeps students engaged by providing them with a vocabulary lesson through the use of educational hip hop.
Music has proven to be an effective learning tool in my classroom, and my students academic achievement has improved this year due to alternative teaching methods in the classroom.
With a subscription to Flocabulary, I am hoping to foster a sense of teaching and learning in a non-traditional method. This improves the students' lives by allowing them to engage with content in various ways.
