My students need an iPad and listening center to have the opportunity to use technology to enhance the learning of math, reading, writing and vocabulary.
Do you remember sitting in class memorizing math facts, spelling and vocabulary words? Well, my vision is to see my students have a technology component to their studies.
I teach in a rural school in Oklahoma.
My students work very hard and I would like to use every tool available to aid in their learning and understanding. Technology is the key to the future. Our students have grown up with this amazing technology and desperately crave it in their educational setting.
My Project
My belief is that students learn when they have a more hands-on approach. I don't want to hand my students a list of words and have them memorize them. I want to give my students the opportunity to demonstrate their understanding of the vocabulary. This would be possible through creating vocabulary videos. Students can use paper slides to describe words, their meanings and how these words can be applied through dialog. This would be an AMAZING tool for my students.
I would also like to have fun ways to practice math concepts. There are some amazing math applications that I believe would help students practice math concepts as well as enhance students' understanding through the use of fun games and activities. The possibilities are endless.
I want to give my wonderful students every opportunity that I can.
We are preparing them for jobs that haven't even been created yet. Technology is key in the future of our students. I want to make sure that they have every opportunity to practice these very important skills. Please help me make this dream become reality. After all, these amazing kids are our future.
