My students need activities to strengthen their vocabulary. Prefixes, suffixes, synonyms, antonyms, and multiple word meanings all play a huge role in this development.

My Students

Having the ability to speak intelligently is one of my primary goals! My students need activities so they can practice their vocabulary skills.

I teach advanced first graders from an at-risk area of town.

My children do not have strong opportunities to gain vocabulary skills or to practice vocabulary skills. Using the requested vocabulary activities within the classroom will offer a greater opportunity for strengthening these skills.

My Project

The requested vocabulary skill items will be used to enhance my teaching. Students will use the vocabulary activities during Literacy Centers. Students will also be using their verbal vocabulary skills when working in a small group or with a partner. Once new vocabulary words are learned and internalized, students are responsible for using these words correctly throughout the day.

So many more doors will open up for students who have a strong and varied vocabulary. This training begins with the younger students and grows throughout life.
