Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Proving each and every one of my students with the highest learning experience possible, regardless of their background is my goal every single day.
They are small, are curious, very active, bilingual, and technology disadvantaged.
They fives years old kindergartners in a bilingual classroom. The majority of my students are first and second generation Mexican-Americans. I am very grateful to see their excited faces every day as they enter school. Our school provides a safe space for our bilingual and bicultural students. Their linguistic and cultural identities are nurtured and included within our curriculum.
My Project
My students need a classroom printer, laminator, shredding machine, colorful paper, and punches to make their writing workshop projects exciting. Students will see their own ideas come to life and make something tangible for a project that addresses their narrative and informational true stories come to life.
Our students will these materials to explore their abilities in the building, creating, writing, and manipulating equipment for their writing workshop center time to be expressive and fun.
By donating to our project my students not only increase their attention to their writing workshop but they will increase their focus and academic achievement. The printer will allow my students to print their final writing projects after revising and drafting them. Using colorful paper will allow students to have vivid and fun writing projects. A laminator and pouches will allow them to have their writing work last and be displayed in our room and school community. Finally, a shredding machine will help them recycle and reuse paper for future art projects.
