Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are in 5th thru 8th grade. They surprise me each day with how much they are learning and understand. They are bright individuals with interesting and different personalities. They make me laugh each day. I am so excited to have such a great big bunch of kiddos. We are a Title I school that serves a low socio economic community in Tucson.
My students love to learn and show off what they learn.
They are excited to go into their classes with their friends to learn. Since most of my students have learning disabilities, they work extra hard to understand what they are learning. With each passing day, I know my students will be reaching their personal learning goals, and they will be happy with their successes.
My Project
I have some very unique students in my classroom. My students are a showing what they know in their own way, they also learn in different ways. I have some kinesthetic learners and some auditory and visual learners. Using different kinds of way to help the students learn is ideal environment.
A visual dictionary will help my students understand words that they do not know by incorporating the picture.
Some of my students are English Learners and the use of a Spanish Visual dictionary will help them understand the words in their first language. Some of my students need support with weights to help with anxiety, a weighted vest will help them feel secure. A visual timer will also help many of my students understand how much time is needed or left during resets.
