Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

At Graham Elementary in Newark, CA all of our walls are made of brick making it very difficult to hang any posters or charts for our students to use as reference (tape does not do the trick and hot glue rips the materials!) I feel that a classroom needs to be a rich environment of visuals, charts, vocabulary, math tools, etc., for the students to refer to throughout their learning experience. I have found that they do refer to them when the the charts are colorful and welcoming. This is why I am asking for the highly coveted POST-IT NOTE CHART PAPER! The Post-It Note adhesive material sticks to our brick walls and will not fall to the ground mid-unit! I can make reference tools for my students AND my students can demonstrate their learning by making posters and charts for each other. We leave these charts and organizers up during Writers Workshop, math chapters, literature units and grammar lessons so that they can be used for constant reference. Also, anyone who walks into our 6th grade classroom can see what we are learning and exploring at a quick glance. 31 students will benefit from the purchase of Post-It Note Chart Paper this year and for years to come.
