My Students

As a school counselor, I love the smiles, high fives, and hugs I receive each day from the scholars that I advocate, provide a listening ear and guidance to. My scholars live in a low socioeconomic community in the Dallas area. Many of the students have challenging living environments/situations that they deal with each day, but they love coming to school. Most of the students speak two languages, English and Spanish and receive free/reduced school lunch. I serve awesome students!

My Project

I am one of the school counselors at a PreK-5th grade elementary school. As I interact with the scholars, I see how incorporating various learning styles enhances the ability to meet their academic, personal, and social emotional needs. As a classroom educator for 12 years, I have seen awesome advantages of being able to connect student learning experiences through technology.

Being able to use a projector, I will be able to provide visual and audio opportunities to engage the scholars attention, as well as, provide effective instruction when I do guidance lessons, small group sessions, presentations and discussions with the scholars.
