Visualizing our Designs

Help me give my students KEVA blocks to turn two-dimensional concepts into three-dimensional designs. The blocks are meant to allow teams to work together to create mock-ups of their products and visualize and revise designs before building.

My Students

My students thrive in a project-based learning environment. They enjoy solving problems that are real-world and hands-on. These engineering students are a group of incredible students who are working to find their career passions and how engineering can be integrated into any field and career pathway.

I love how my students are inquisitive and want to think and design beyond what they know and see every day.

My favorite part of getting to work with my classes each day is the excitement when they get to build and present their solutions.

My Project

The KEVA planks allow students to visualize their concepts and ideas. Many times just drawings and images are not enough to help students really understand how their engineering designs look and are constructed. KEVA planks provide students and teams with the ability to also brainstorm interactively and model concepts and ideas in their teams.

Students who are first learning to draw technically and turn 2D images into 3D models can struggle with the concept of spatial reasoning and conceptual visualization.

Having the planks will provide my engineering students the opportunity to learn hands-on and move beyond just visualizing technical drawings in 3D modeling software.
