I am a public school teacher from South Florida and I constantly look for ways to make learning exciting and memorable to my students.
I will appreciate any assistance you can provide in contributing to engaging experiences for my students.
My students get excited about learning when presented with unconventional resources that challenge them to think outside the box. They love to question, discuss ideas, and exchange their points of view.
My Project
The goal of my "Visualizing Learning Through Sketch-noting" project is to obtain basic school supplies with a slight twist (e.g., more color) to encourage my students to represent their learning via doodling and sketch-noting.
My hope is to equip my students with non-conventional note-taking strategies that will ultimately help them stay on task as well as remember and retain the material taught.
Materials such as colorful pens and markers, post-it easel pads, pouches for students' drawings/notes or color paper will be used to encourage my students to represent their thoughts and learning by means of visual note-taking using symbols, graphic shortcuts and mental "containers."
