Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students attend a Title I school, where all students receive free lunch. A majority of my students come from homes surrounded by environments heightened with crime. My students need help to encourage their learning amid this corona virus outbreak. Students that are disadvantaged should have the supplies they need to continue their learning at home.

My Project

I'm purchasing document cameras for each and every student because I am tired of not being able to see my students complete their work up close and personal! These document cameras will give me insight into their thinking on a much deeper level than virtual learning ever could.

I get on zoom every day, only to see my student's eyes as mostly confused.

They hear me and see me, but cant place full understanding into what they're learning because I'm not there to physically witness the proof of that learning. I want to watch students write a sentence. I want to see students read a book as I read a book with them. I want to see my students and their progress as they complete compositions. I want to see what THEY see as learning occurs.
