In our classroom we have two groups of fifteen three-year-olds. They are an energetic group of children who are learning what it means to be at school and how to follow the rules. The children love to dance, sing, and engage with new friends they have made at school!
While much of the learning focuses on social-emotional development, the children are also developing their cognitive, physical and language skills!
This will prepare them for when they transition into the four-year-old classroom at the end of the year!
Our school year has been going wonderfully so far and we cannot wait to see the growth our students make the rest of the school year!
My Project
In our classroom, we have many children who seek out sensory experiences. They are often at the sand table, playing with Playdoh, or doing large motor work. We would like to introduce the students to a new, exciting sensory experience.
The light table and building blocks would allow the children to experience the visual stimulation that will help focus their attention and allow them to build using fine and gross motor skills.
They will be able to explore different ways light can affect materials, all while gaining the sensory experience that so many of them crave!
Not only will it be used as a sensory experience, but it can be used in many other ways! It can be utilized while learning letters, numbers, or even creating art projects! We believe that the light table and building blocks would be a wonderful asset to our classroom!
