As a special education teacher in the junior high setting, I am always looking for new ways to hold the interest of the junior high age group. I teach in a resource and inclusion setting which encompasses a diversified group of students who have various types of learning styles as well as abilities. In the age of growing technology, I hope to introduce my classes to the use of technology in math, using different ways to achieve mastery of a concept. I am hoping to acquire a computer projector and screen to use in my classroom. Some of my students have visual difficulties. By the use of a projector and screen it will make it easier for them and others to not only see the problems, but to solve the problems in ways other than the traditional paper and pencil method. It will also expose these students to an array of different types of programs: United Streaming, Math Text on CD, student generated materials, and countless others. I want my students to experience presentations through the usage of the projector and screen to keep them up to date and to give them the opportunity to have access to the latest resources in the marketplace today! The ultimate goal for my students is to be productive citizens!! Thank you for your consideration!!
