My students need a document camera as a visual aid to grade and review work done. Often the students make presentations in class. This will help their presentations be more successful.

My Students

Our school is small and located in the Ozarks of Southern Missouri. Outside of school they enjoy farm life and the clear blue waters of our local rivers. Small town life has many perks and some disadvantages.

Our school is a low-income district.

The students are hard working, many determined to make a difference any way they are able. The students in our district often lack the opportunities of larger districts that have more funding. Funding is tight, there is little money for classroom supplies and technology.

My Project

My students really need a document camera in our classroom. This camera will help them see things visually projected onto our smart board. With a document camera, I will be able to place a book or paper under the camera and it will project it onto the board. This will be beneficial when we have worksheets, small objects, books etc. It will project anything placed under the projector.

I hate to use worksheets, but they are often necessary to introduce a topic.

My wish is that this visual will help hold the students interest. I often have the students give presentations and become the "teachers" of a topic. This document camera can be easily used to help their presentations become more appealing.
