Visual-Based Coding Inspires Students

Help me give my students a wide variety of STEM-Based Coding products. My students excel well when they have a physical object in front of them.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach technology to 6th, 7th and 8th graders. My school is a Title I school where 100% of the student population qualifies for free or reduced-price lunch. My students are curious students with the willingness to learn new things in technology... especially technology that is difficult to come by for them or are not exposed to due to their family's socio-economic status.

My students learn best through hands-on learning and visualization projects!

I have taught for 19 years, and every year I have students that amaze me with their creativity in their projects that we do. Technology is a language that they want to understand and love to use. I want to continue to see that happen in my classroom every day.

My Project

My students are very visual-based learners yet I require them to learn coding in my tech class. Having just a set of programs or codes on a computer screen often isn't enough. My lab is set up to handle both visual-based object coding and typed-screen coding. With my school being a Title I school, I want my students to have opportunities to explore them all as much as they can...opportunities they wouldn't have at home.

21st century skills is critical in a middle school students' development!

I encourage and teach my students to use critical thinking, collaboration, data as well as many other skills that are needed in today's world. These purchases will help my students get a wide variety of experiences that will help them later in their lives.
