Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students enjoy school immensely. Sometimes they get so excited about learning it seems they will just burst. It is infectious.
My students are from a high-poverty region and are predominantly bilingual or English Language Learners.
The students and their families are motivated learners. Some of our parents even come to school to learn along with their children. They are all excited to discover and explore. My amazing kids are deserving of so much more than their economic status currently allows and I want to do everything I can to help them reach a brighter future.
My Project
My students are so full of energy and enthusiasm. They enjoy learning about the unique people around them.
Having these multicultural art materials will help me teach my students that the world is diverse and filled with beauty.
Fostering multicultural awareness and diversity appreciation in the classroom is of utmost importance. Children need to participate in activities that will help them understand that people are unique and different and yet similar in so many ways too.
We will engage in art activities that involve creating portraits, family pictures, and friend pictures. Having a variety of skin tone paper, crayons, pencils, and markers to create their masterpieces will support my students self awareness and to appreciate the beautiful characteristics of others.
Thank you for considering a donation to my wonderful students!
