My first grade students are very diverse in learning styles and abilities. I have students who are English Language Learners, ESE, Gifted, ADHD and many that come from low economic environments.
My students are dreamers, thinkers, talkers, and questioners.
They are mini inspirations to themselves and others around them, even if they don't know it yet. They are our future and I want to foster their love for learning so they can be successful in every aspect of their lives.
My students love math centers because they get the chance to move around and discuss math while playing games. We have a math center structure in our classroom but I'd love to be able to extend this time. My students need more activities to use that will help them continue to practice a variety of math skills.
My students will be able to use the calendar math journals to get daily practice with real world math skills.
Eventually students will be empowered to lead this teaching time in our classroom and these journals will help all students feel successful. We will also be able to incorporate the games into our morning meeting for extra practice. My students would love your help!
