I am guidance counselor for elementary school students who comes from a diverse background in a Title I public school. Throughout the course of the year our student's worked very hard to earn a No Place for Hate gold star status. This meant they created 4 school wide activities that help stop bullying, create an inclusive environment, respecting each others differences, and encourage being an up-stander.
These activities brought out artistic side of our students and promoted teamwork.
We hope these values carry our to middle school, their community, and beyond.
My students strive to help and we encourage their independence and leadership. However, while they are remote learning, they need even more motivation. This is why we are continuing our talent show but virtually.
We hope with help that our students continue to be active leaders and continue to pursue their passion.
My Project
Since we went to remote learning many of our students have a difficult time coping. We thought it would be a great idea to continue our talent show but virtually. Students have been applying online to our talent rapidly. They are also dedicating their talent to a service member in the community.
Participants will perform the arts of singing, dancing, lip-syncing, acting, martial arts, playing an instrument, poetry, comedy, art projects or other activities to showcase skills.
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement and personal goals.
