As teachers in an inclusion class in a Title I school, my co-teacher and I have students that face many challenges daily. These challenges can range from not knowing who is going to pick them up from school that day to not having someone home to help them with their homework. Some students come to school hungry and without supplies. Inclusion also means teaching students with and without special needs (students with and without IEPs). These special needs can include specific learning disabled, autism, other health impaired, and cerebral palsy.
If you were to walk into our "inclusion" classroom, you would not be able to tell which students have special needs and which do not.
They all have unique and special needs that we need to meet.
We consider each child as an individual with unique needs. We teach the whole child. We meet each pupil where they are emotionally, behaviorally, socially, and educationally to help them succeed to their highest potential.
My Project
My district decided to be 100% virtual for the first 9 weeks of school. So far, my first graders are absolutely ROCKING virtual learning! I am so proud of them. Their love for learning is contagious.
I am constantly looking for new and exciting lessons and activities to keep their love for learning going.
This Teachers Pay Teachers gift card will help me find Google Slide activities that I can put on our Google Classroom site. I will be able to find activities to differentiate for all of my students.
