Virtual Reality to Stimulate Imagination

My Students

The students at my school are at risk students and many are reluctant learners, but feel they have a new start at this alternative high school. Many of them have learned to dislike school because of previous experiences but are willing to give it another try. They work hard and they are excited and eager to learn.

My Project

I am requesting an Oculus headset for a virtual experience they can write about in English class. Students will use a variety of virtual reality experiences to help them stimulate their imaginations to help them to begin the writing process.

Struggling students have trouble using their imaginations to think of topics to write about in free writing situations, this virtual reality will be used to help give them ideas to begin the writing process.

This Oculus headset can help about 30 students a day in a high school English class. Nothing to write about? Well just step into this other world and see if we can find a who, what, when, where.
