My students are creative, determined, quirky, silly and excited to learn as much as possible about photography. They are eager to show me their photos and talk about editing. Last year, students took photos in the courtyard and would come running into the classroom to show me their favorite shots. The light in their eyes and the excitement in their voices was priceless.
I want my students to experience the MAGIC of photography even thought they don't have access to the digital SLR or photoshop this year.
This year we will be learning in a virtual environment so I will be teaching them about photography and using their cell phone camera and we will be editing on the phone instead of the classroom computers. They are a little bit bummed about not being able to use the cameras or our computers, so I want to make this experience magical for them.
My Project
Teaching any kind of art requires a lot of demonstration so the students can be most successful in their art form. This year our demonstrations are done virtually through zoom and filming myself creating videos. I don't have proper equipment for the students to see my demonstrations.
Effectively teaching photography in a virtual environment requires the correct technology tools so that students can see what to do via the "zoom classroom." I am so excited to be able to create a studio in which my students will easily see demonstrations and I can easily see them!
