Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My kids are at a Montessori school where almost all of our materials for teaching are shared. We also use shared materials in our Peace Corner to help the kiddos get and stay regulated and calm so they can learn. My kids will need individual copies of these materials now, even if some of them are still learning in-person in our classroom.

My Project

These materials will allow me to provide my kids individual Montessori math materials so they can work on addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. They will also allow me to provide my kids with materials that normally would be in our shared Peace Corner. These would be things like the squishy toys, Rubix cubes, and stretchy bands. They will not be able to share these this year, so I am wanting to provide individual tools for them to use at their work space. Lastly, we will be missing a lot of connections this year due to not being able to be close to each other. The pillowcases and fabric markers are so the kiddos can make a "flag" of what they're good at that we can hang around the room so we can connect in that way.
