Help me give my students math materials that they can use daily to be active and engaged learners. This will give them the ability to not only follow along but to also be more confident participating!
My classroom will be filled with amazing students who are enthusiastic to learn and grow this school year. Although I have not met them, they are familiar faces from the previous grade that are eager to join my classroom community and family. Daily, these students come to school (or show up virtually) prepared for complete engagement throughout their lessons and activities.
I teach in a district that has demographics with very low socio-economic status.
Many of the students come from families that will not be able to purchase many of the necessary materials that are needed for virtual learning.
My Project
My students will utilize these materials at home! They will be able to participate more efficiently in math instruction done virtually with a white board, expo marker, an eraser, and a pencil pouch that will hold all their materials.
My students will use the whiteboards to solve math problems that illustrate their thinking.
I will be able to see their work!
Having students prepared with the right materials is essential during these distant times. It is challenging enough that we are not together in the classroom. Providing my students with these resources will encourage them to not only participate in math lessons, but to actively be engaged with their learning. These materials will go a long way!
