This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students from Detroit are dedicated not only to reaching their academic goals but to becoming strong leaders and great friends! Our classroom is built around a community where my students gladly take on responsibility and foster respect.

Math is a challenge for a lot of students but they never give up on me!

We are all about learning as a group effort and making sure no one is left behind. My students make me proud to be their teacher and proud of Detroit!

My Project

As we have made our way into virtual distance learning here in Detroit, I've found that I am in need of one essential item to best support my students' learning: a document camera.

To teach math, I need to be able to teach my students in real time and a document camera will allow me to show my students how I work out problems on paper.

It's been very difficult to teach math with only a small whiteboard that must be maneuvered to fit in frames. With a document camera, my students' lessons will be clear and concise and will give them the best opportunity to learn.
