Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach at a Title I middle school in St. Louis, Missouri. All our students qualify for free breakfast and lunch. My students face so many challenges outside of the classroom, and it is my job to make sure their school life is safe and enjoyable. They come to school with so much joy and excitement about learning.

This year may be different but I want to make it the best year of possible for my new 6th graders.

Seeing how hard they work truly amazes me, and I want to make sure we do everything we can to provide them every resource to ensure their success. They truly are leaders in their community, and I know they will continue to be lifelong learners.

My Project

I have used Teachers Pay Teachers as a learning go-to source and find it a valuable tool to be able to reach all the learning styles of students. Having a Teachers Pay Teachers gift card will give me access to thousands of resources that I could use with my students. There are so many resources that I know would be useful for my students during the 2020-2021 school year and for many years to come, and this gift card could put them right into my fingertips.
