Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are active and imaginative. They come from different cultures and have limited resources. My classroom is an inclusion classroom where 25% of the students have individualized education plans. Many of my students come from low-income households and can benefit greatly from supplies.
My students are full of love and have the desire to learn new things.
We have worked hard to provide Chromebooks to all of my students as they do not have access to technology in their homes. They would benefit from different resources in addition to the use of technology to increase their success in virtual learning. This would also allow them to stage engaged and have other opportunities for learning as many of their parents are still working.
My Project
Distance learning has been a challenge. We are finally getting the hang of it, however! Many of my students live with multiple family members, making it hard to focus on their work.
Providing headphones for these students will allow them to shut off the noise that is distracting them.
Providing them with paperback reading books will also allow them to take a break from staring at the screen all the time.
As I am starting to teach new content, having a printer will allow me to provide clear and visual examples for students during our Zoom sessions.
