Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Kindergarten is an amazing grade! It is a foundation for years to come. Unfortunately, this year my rockstar kindergartners are being shorted their first year in school. They are dealing with so many uncertainties in the world around them and learning shouldn’t be one of them.
I want them to learn everything their little minds can absorb even from a distance.
I teach in an urban school district, in which most of my students come from low-income families. They have very limited access to extra resources. My amazing district did provide most students with a Chromebook, and now, I want to be able to connect more with them!
My Project
Right now in this time, everything is different. Things are changing all around us. Everyone is doing the best they can.
Our doctors, nurses, delivery drivers, all essential workers are our heroes; but our children are also the heroes!
Their whole world was turned upside down in the blink of an eye and some of the little ones don't fully understand why. They are doing school work at home, seeing their teachers and friends on the computer; being taught lessons through a screen. This iPad will help me deliver instruction to my students from my house. It will allow me to have virtual meetings with them more frequently. Allow me to show them things in real time using some of the screen share features. It will help me with delivering the best quality of virtual learning that I can.
