Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a 3rd grade teacher in a low-income/high diversity school, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom, especially during these times of COVID-19. With the many challenges they face, I am looking to provide my students with technology to allow them to be successful while distance learning.
My students are very eager to get back to school, but need additional resources to be successful while learning virtually .
Many of them are being raised in a single parent home, a non-English speaking home, and/or a low-income home. I may not be able to control their home lives, however, I can certainly control their experience during the school day. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I am hopeful to give my students the tools they need to be successful while learning virtually.
My Project
This graphic tool will take the place of my interactive Promethean Board in the classroom environment. Since students will now be learning virtually, this will allow them to visually see things written directly on their screen. For example, while teaching mathematics, I will be able to draw examples for them instead of just telling them how to do it. I can model things which will help all learners understand and master skills better. Students will be able to see information being displayed in order for them to process things better.
