My Philadelphia School District students are creative, full of questions, and eager to learn! They love hands-on, active, engaging activities that challenges them. They came to school each day ready to learn new things. Now, they are in front of a screen many hours every day. They click, they watch, and they fill in the blanks.
I want to make virtual learning more interactive, but my students do not have the basic supplies they need at home.
We had a few hours notice to leave our classroom. And who ever thought we would not be there again.
These are a incredible group of kids who just want to continue learning and growing academically and emotionally.
My Project
With learning taking place at home my students need the materials to make learning fun.
They sit in front of a computer screen for hours everyday watching and typing.
I want to make virtual learning interactive.
When we practice our sight words I want them to write them on a wipe off board with a dry erase marker. When we write stories I want them to have paper and pencils. When we create pictures in Science I want them to have crayons to make them colorful.
And as a bonus I want to to throw a ball to the sounds of the words, count out to solve addition problems, or just get some exercise. Plus they should have a healthy snack just because.
