With different religions, talents, backgrounds, clubs, programs, sports, and etc., our students have marked our school with something special other campuses cannot compete with. Our school is also one of the biggest high schools in California, making this campus a melting pot of its own.
Our Title I school has more than 40% of students with reduced price or free lunches.
Thinking in terms of poverty, having these technological advances would certainly enhance, if not transform, their learning experiences. These technology advantages will be a great asset in helping unify the students of this incredibly diverse school.
My Project
Virtual learning is becoming an integral part of every student's and educator's life. To better equip and enhance my virtual teaching delivery of math concepts from Algebra 1 to AP Calculus, having an iPad will transform the way I teach.
Also, I will be able to better utilize apps such as Kahoot (for interactive review/games), Desmos (for interactive graphing and advanced math lessons) to enrich students' learning and understanding.
Gone are days of logging in with two Zoom accounts and using my document camera to teach in a stationary place that severely restricts my movement and ability to be creative.
Instead, the new tools will bring so much flexibility and freedom to my teaching because I can freely write and draw as if I was standing right next to them. Students will see the details of the images and writing required to have complete solutions. Once we return to the classroom, it will also allow me the freedom to teach from anywhere in the classroom, while projecting my written work on the board and even saving it to upload for later reference. The possibilities are endless.
