This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students live in a small community in Northeast Alabama. Sixty-eight percent of students at my school receive free or reduced-price lunch. Even though many of our students live at or below the poverty line, students and teachers at my school work hard to bridge the achievement gap. Students receive an education full of rigor and receive quality instruction from a vast array of trained professional educators. Our high school is committed to helping our students become successful global citizens in the 21st century.
My Project
With the global pandemic among us, several students find themselves without the proper materials in order to complete their work. With access to a Chromebook, our students would be able to complete their work to finish the school year.
In times like we are living in, education still needs to be equitable.
With the purchase and ability to check out Chromebooks, we will make learning available for all of our students. It is my hope that this would alleviate the stress of "one less thing" from parents and the students of our school.
