Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are always encouraged to express their cognitive abilities during center times. I group my students according to their cognitive literacy scores and then have them participate in centers that address district standards. The centers encompass a fun learning activity.
My students all come from different economic backgrounds.
Many of them come from low income families and have very little exposure to technology. My students are very eager to learn especially where technology is present. Our school makes an effort to bus in students from impoverished areas. We provide every student with an equal opportunity for an education. Our magnet school provides a unique curriculum for students interested in the Arts.
My Project
The TV box will be utilized to participate in online field trips. The TV box will attach to the Promethean board. The online field trips will take them across the country visiting all the National State Parks. A Ranger will be present to take them on a tour and speak about the parks' wildlife and valuable resources. Students need to recognize the beauty our state parks have to offer. The webcam will provide a way to communicate with our Ranger. I'm personally very excited about this project!
Students are always eager to learn through the use of technology.
The project will expose them to places they've never seen before. The idea of communicating with someone across the country is different, exciting, and memorable. This project gives every child an opportunity to learn regardless of their challenges. No Child is Left Behind.
