My Students

My students are from a relative small rural area in Oklahoma. The majority of my students have never and honestly will probably never leave our little corner of the world, without the opportunities provided to them through public education. I have students from all different educational, economic and ethnic backgrounds. Many of my students come from single parent homes, living with grandparents, even great grand parents to living with friends parents. Many of my students are dependent on the free breakfast and lunches our school provides daily. These students come into my classroom many days to escape to harsh realities they are growing up in daily.

Even with all the road blocks they may have in their personal lives I hope to provide a classroom environment and opportunities to create the best education for each and every eighth grade student that enters my classroom.

Everyday, I enter my classroom with the hopes of educating and motivating my students to be anything they could dream of becoming in the future. I love to see their excitement in their faces when that moment of understanding or when they are able to experience different learning goals in the classroom.

My Project

Due to recent issues we as teacher have experienced in trying to set up field trips, due Covid I am asking for this project to be funded allowing me to provide virtual field trips for my students. The current classroom computer I have is too old to allow for download and opening of several virtual field trips I have attempted to take my students through.

My students need the opportunity to visually see places through virtual field trips due to restrictions put in place by Covid concerns.

Allowing the purchase of these materials will allow my students to "visit" history related places and record and share their experiences.
