Our school has just over 450 students in our building from pre-k to fifth grade. We are located in a primarily low-income, rural area of our state, with around eighty-five percent of our students riding a bus to school on the long, backcountry roads. We also have a high percentage of students on our free or reduced-price lunch program.
Hands-on learning as well as relating what we are teaching to real-life experiences is key.
I want students to be exposed to new things every day! I want them to love learning and find a true passion for reading outside the classroom. I teach an average of 68 students this year who are very eager to learn. I try to bring my history and science classes to life! They love it when our boxes arrive from DonorsChoose.org and seeing our new things for the class!
My Project
I am asking for two units for Virginia Studies to use with material I already have. I would like to be as prepared as possible as we try to navigate through this pandemic. I am asking for these two units in particular as they are both PDF and digitally ready. I can use the PDF if we do resume school in August and use the digital if we have to start the school year from home in August.
We are never to old to learn new things.
As I navigate the world of technology, these resources will be very helpful in giving me a foundation.
