My Students

My students enjoy reading books and magazines, learning new vocabulary, and creating projects. These students are excited about learning English!

They are extraordinary students that work very diligently to be successful.

My students are always surprising me with their passion for learning!

Most of the students at our school (about 80%) come from low-income homes. Over half of students at our school come from homes that speak only a language other than English. They work tirelessly to learn as much as they can at school. My students are inspiring!

My Project

My students need books in their home language. The importance of maintaining fluency in home-language cannot be understated. Bilingualism promotes emotional, social, and academic growth. We want our students to maintain their languages while they are learning English in school. Supporting literacy in their home language actually supports English development.

We want students to be able to bring home books to read with their parents in their home language.

Parents want to be able to share reading with their kids. Finding the love of reading in both languages is imperative for student success. We want our students to feel that their language is accepted and supported!
