Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I want to start a Video Journalism Club for fourth and fifth grade students at my school. The purpose of our group would be create a monthly video journal of events at our school. The students in the group would serve as reporters, camera operators, writers, directors and editors. We would meet weekly after school to plan, shoot, and edit the video. Of course, the commitment will extend beyond these after school meetings, as students video events at the school. The product would be available on DVD and on the school web site. This project will benefit both the students directly involved and the school community at large. Students will develop: * Understanding of media and journalism * Teamwork * Greater involvement in school activities * Communication skills * Technical expertise in video and editing The school will receive: * Greater awareness of school activities * Greater sense of school pride In order to realize this vision, we need a video camera. We already have computers and software for editing, as well as excited students. Help make our vision into reality. Thank you in advance for your support.
