This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students attend an elementary school in a low-income neighborhood of Newark, New Jersey.

They are part of a Bilingual Language Program and are learning English while still maintaining their home language.

My students are eager learners who are working towards being fully bilingual and bi-literate. They need your help and support as we are continuously trying to equip our classroom with everything we need to ensure their success. Making sure that they have the tools they need is crucial to their learning.

My Project

My students need a Cricut Joy, Cricut Cuttlebug Machine, Cartridges, Storage and pencils. These items enable us to print materials as needed. These items will allow me to provide my students with manipulatives (counters, shapes that can be assembled in 3D, cut-out vinyl images that last for years) that they would otherwise not have access to at home. We need color...that's where the colored vinyl paper comes in as well as the ink for our color printer. Color attracts student attention. Being able to print additional resources in color is something that my children find exciting. It is something that appeals to their visual learning and in turn, enables them to be more willing to participate. These materials will help us make our classroom into even more fun and exciting environment!
