VHMS Wellness Center

My Students

Our school has 1500 students this year in a rapidly growing community. The past two years have been especially difficult for our students. They have had to adjust on the fly to school closure, online learning, blended learning. Often shifting back and forth between those. All while dealing with family members and themselves struggling with a wide variety of pandemic related issues like unemployment, isolation, and illness. Our kids are struggling with anxiety and other mental health issues as a result.

VHMS has implemented a Wellness Center to help students learn and practice self care.

We need resources to help purchase supplies for our Wellness Center.

My Project

The pandemic has left our students craving for interpersonal connections. These items will help students develop interpersonal/communication skills through playing games. We will provide "Sunshine bags" for struggling students in our Wellness Center.

This project will help to fill-in holes in student social emotional wellbeing related to the pandemic.

We will be be able to work with students to fill in the gaps in social emotional learning by utilizing our Wellness Center and running of groups. Through this project our students will be better equipped to cope with what life throws at them.
