My Students

At our school, we strive to treat each other with respect, love, and compassion. Unfortunately, these students are in high poverty, low-income environment, where all of our students at our school receive free breakfast and lunch. I teach PreK students in an underfunded, underprivileged rural setting. My students are faced with some challenges in their home life which include broken homes and sadness.

My Project

Students learn through play and by playing with one another. I want my students to make connections in our classroom that will apply to their everyday lives. I want to do this by giving my students a veterinarian clinic play center. Our themed pet unit will inspire my students to be future veterinarians and animal lovers. By having this themed dramatic play center in my classroom during our unit on pets will enhance learning and foster communication and enthusiasm about our pet unit. Our objectives for this unit are to apply concepts, offer real world experiences and encourage social and language skills.
